HATLEY HOUSE

Located in the picturesque, lakeside village of North Hatley, Quebec, Hatley House reflects the vernacular architecture of the Eastern Townships. With its gable roof, cedar clad exterior, and sliding barn doors, the house is a simplified expression of a country retreat.

The design of the house was carefully crafted to promote healthy living. This was achieved through the selection of materials that are both aesthetically pleasing and thermally efficient. The house also features passive thermal strategies, such as large windows and thermal mass that allow for natural ventilation and heating/cooling. This house is an attempt to blend passive design with rural charm to obtain an end result that is both aesthetically pleasing and conducive to healthy living.
